This weekend I tried to make an Ombre Cake, and I think It turned out pretty good.

To make this cake I started by making a vanilla cake by using this recipe: https://goo.gl/YRGPaC.

I made a double batch of the batter, then I split it into four bowls and colored them: Purple, dark pink, light pink and I left the last bowl plain.

I then baked and left the sponges to cool and while they cooled I made a large batch of vanilla buttercream.

I stacked and iced the sponges in gradient order, then I iced the outside with a thick layer of icing.

I finished off the cake by decorating it with chocolate chunks on the tops and sides.

One last photo of the cake when It's cut open.
